Nirbhaya accused to be hanged on February 1

Delhi court on Friday issued fresh death sentences against the four convicts of the infamous rape and murder of Nirbhaya. They have been given a new date for their hanging, which will be held on February 1, 2020 at 6 am.

This sentence was issued after President Ram Nath Kovind rejected the mercy plea of Mukesh Singh, one of the four men convicted in the 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape and murder case.

The rejection came soon after the Union Home Ministry forwarded the petition to the president on Friday morning.
