Massive operation continues to rescue missing soldier in Siachen
A massive rescue operation was immediately launched, official sources said, adding that five soldiers and two porters were recovered in a critical condition and shifted to base camp.

A massive operation was underway to rescue a soldier who is missing after a huge snow avalanche hit a camp at Siachen glacier, the highest battle field in the word, in Ladakh Union Territory (UT).
Six soldiers and two porters were buried alive under a huge snow avalanche in north of Siachen on Monday at 15:30 hrs.
A massive rescue operation was immediately launched, official sources said, adding that five soldiers and two porters were recovered in a critical condition and shifted to base camp. However, four soldiers and two porters were declared brought dead while another was later referred to Army hospital at Nobra.
A soldier was still missing, they said, adding that search operation continued till late in the night. With the first light this morning, it was again launched to recover the missing soldier, they said.
