Modi and Xi detours Mamallapuram monuments

The landmark two-day meet between Xi Jingping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has kicked-off on a lighter note with Modi taking his Chinese counterpart around the famous Mamallapuram sculptures.

Modi who is known to carry himself well on all occasions has again made a fashion statement with donning the traditional Tamil veshti, white shirt and angavastram.

It is in this costume that PM Modi received Chinese President Xi Jingping.

The sculptures and its cultural intricacies were explained by Modi himself to Xi Jinping.

This is looked as an informal meet whereas the official signing of agreements will take place on Saturday.
