Jaitley's final journey begins

Ex finance Minister of first NDA government led by PM Narendra Modi, Arun Jaitley's mortal remains has been taken away from the BJP headquarters to the Nigambhot Ghat for his final rites taking place at 2:30 PM on Sunday.

The former minister introduced the landmark and controversial GST regime. Jaitley had suffered from kidney ailments for long. He went through kidney transplant surgery last year and bariatric surgery for diabetes on 2014.

On August 9 he was rushed to AIIMS Delhi due to breathlessness and restlessness. His health deteriorated and finally he died at 12:07 pm on Saturday.

The BJP faced a double blow in August as their party's proficient leaders and exceptional orators, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley had passed away.

Sushma Swaraj succumbed to cardiac arrest and she too breathed her last at the AIIMS Delhi on August 9.
