Rahul to visit flood-landslide hit areas in Wayanad and Malappuram from Aug 26
The Congress leader had visited the landslide-hit areas in Kavalapara and relief camp in Pothukally near Nilambur in Malappuram district on August 11 and been to Puthumala and other landslide-hit areas in Wayanad district on August 12.

Former AICC President and Wayanad MP Rahul Gandhi will be visiting the flood-landslide hit areas in Wayanad and Malappuram districts of Kerala from August 26.
The Congress leader had visited the landslide-hit areas in Kavalapara and relief camp in Pothukally near Nilambur in Malappuram district on August 11 and been to Puthumala and other landslide-hit areas in Wayanad district on August 12.
As many as 70 lives were lost in these landslides and massive search to recover few more bodies from these places are still on.
Both the calamiy-hit Wayanad district and Nilambur in Malappuram district form part of the Wayanad Lok Sabha constituency, represented by Mr Gandhi in the Lok Sabha.
Post his visit, Gandhi had written to the Prime Minister seeking special package for Kerala for rebuilding the calamity-hit areas and rehabilitating the victims. The MP had also organised and dispatched 50,000 kilo of rice and other items to Kerala as a follow up measure.
According to sources, Gandhi's follow-up visit is to review the situation and to extend his helping hand in supporting the State Government in rebuilding the State.
