CBSE explains revised exam fee
The fee was not revised in the last five years. The amended fee is applicable all across India not just New Delhi.

CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) increased the exam fee for grade 10 and 12. For students from SC, ST category the exam fee was raised 24 times the usual amount and for the students from general category it was raised twice the usual amount.
The political party leaders and many others took a counter stand to this revised rule. Following this, the CBSE board explains the grounds for this change, which are:Â
The fee was not revised in the last five years. The amended fee is applicable all across India not just New Delhi.
Indian and International schools established under the CBSE board should follow the new fee structure.
The fee for one subject was Rs 150 and totally Rs 750 was charged. The revised fee is Rs 300 for one subject and totally Rs 1,500 for five subjects. Visually impaired students are not charged any fee.
This revised fee is lesser than other institutions. National Institute of Open Schooling charges the higher secondary male students Rs 1,800 and female students Rs 1,450 from the general category and the SC, ST category students are charged Rs 1,200. The GC Senior Secondary male students are charged RS 2,000 and female students Rs 1,750 and the SC, ST category students are charged Rs 1,300. For every extra subject Rs 720 is charged.
It also mentioned that CBSE has autonomous status and doesn’t work for profit or loss.
