Remarks against Tamils: Anbazahagan demands President, PM to dismiss or recall LG
The AIADMK leader said the LG should keep her power struggle with Chief Minister V Narayanasamy alone.
Chennai
AIADMK Legislature party leader A Anbazahagan on Wednesday demanded President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to either dismiss or recall Lt Governor Kiran Bedi in connection with her remarks against the Tamils on the drinking water issue in Chennai city.
Talking to news persons here, Anbazhagan said the Lt.Governor do not have any business to interfere into the drinking water issue of another state.
Though she interfered, Ms Bedi also termed the politicians as corrupt and people as cowards.
Even though, the Lt Governor clarified that it is not her personal view and it is the view of the people of Tamil Nadu, 'her remarks is against the constitution and the oath of office' she had taken.
Further, her remarks would instigate the people of Tamil Nadu against the government, Anbazhagan added.
The AIADMK leader said the LG should keep her power struggle with Chief Minister V Narayanasamy alone. The people here are waiting to know when Bedi will leave Puducherry. Hence, she should come forward and resign on her own, he added.
He said to condemn the Lt.Governor, the AIADMK would organize an agitation in front of the Raj Nivas on Thursday when her dismissal or re-call would be demanded.
It may be noted that the DMK held an agitation in front of the Head Post Office (near Raj Nivas) on Tuesday to condemn the LG for her remarks.
