According to a Raj Nivas release, she interacted with women self-help groups (SHGs) who are now moving to become a federation. The self-help groups were unaware that there existed a grievance redressal system that they can connect with for the resolution of their problems. The release said that SHGs were explained of the grievance redressal system and immediately they made a request for a liquor shop to be removed. They also represented the need of a pathway to the burial ground, a drain to be cleared and toilet for pilgrims and devotees who visit the village temple.

The interaction and the ground reality made it evident that due to absence of coordination between LAD and District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), rural sanitation is weak. In view of the absence of a strong inter-connecting and coordinated working of the two departments responsible for rural development, the desired progress has not been possible causing avoidable suffering on grounds of rural sanitation and creation or rural assets.

The SHG also need to be communicated and educated on various schemes of the government, the release said.
