Pondy CM felicitates cops of Nettapakkam station
Chief Minister V Narayanasamy along with Director General of Police Sundari Nanda on Thursday visited the Nettapakkam police station near here which was ranked fourth among the best ten police stations in the country by the Union Home Ministry.

The Chief Minister felicitated the police personnel attached to the station on the occasion. Speaker V Vaithilingam and legislator Vijayaveni were among others present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Narayanasamy said that the entire credit for this achievement goes to DGP Sundari Nanda and her team. Soon after the Congress-DMK front came to power in 2016, the government took a vow to ensure peace and security here and to keep the law and order under control. Accordingly, police initiated action and were successful in this endeavor to some extent.
“We cannot say that it was fully achieved,” he added.
The Chief Minister said the UT managed to get not only schemes from the Central government in the last two and a half years, but also several awards. He said India conferred five awards on the Union territory in 2016, three in 2017 and four in 2018.
Recalling the positions achieved by the colleges here including the Pondicherry Engineering College on All India basis, the CM said that Puducherry succeeded in getting in the smart city list and added that an organ transplant hospital, as a branch of JIPMER will soon come up at Saidarapet here.
He also announced cash awards and certificates to all police personnel of the Nettapakkam circle, which would be given on the Republic Day.
