    Electioneering is set to pick up momentum in Telangana and Rajasthan while campaigning for the Mizoram assembly elections and BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh will end on Monday evening.

    The 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly and 40-member Mizoram state legislature will go to polls in a single phase on Wednesday, November 28.

    The BJP is in power in Madhya Pradesh since 2003 and in Mizoram the Congress is in power under party veteran Lal Thanhawla since 2008.

    Polling in Telangana and 200-member Rajasthan assembly will be held on December 7.

    Telangana has 119 constituencies.

    In Madhya Pradesh, leaders of national as well as regional political parties have chalked out elaborate campaign plans to woo voters. Major political parties including the BJP and the opposition Congress fielded their top leaders in the campaign on Sunday.

    On Monday, BJP chief Amit Shah will address a public meeting at Manavar Bypass Road, Kukshi in Dhar. He will also stage a roadshow in politically crucial Indore. "The roadshow will take place at around 14:30 hours from Chikmagalur Chowk to Krishna Pura Chhatri," a party source said here.

    In his last campaign rally at Jabalpur on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said: "From Panchayat to Parliament, each and every state was once ruled by the Congress. But why are people across the country now rejecting the Congress?"

    Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani, Mathura MP Hema Malini among others have campaigned for the ruling BJP, while Congress leaders Navjot Singh Siddhu, Kamalnath and Jyotiraditya Scindia addressed rallies in the state. Congress president Rahul Gandhi was the star campaigner for the party.

    Samajwadi Pary leader Akhilesh Yadav and Aam Aadmi Party leader Gopal Rai had also campaigned for their party candidates.

    About 250 women are among the 2,899 candidates are in the fray for the elections in Madhya Pradesh.

    In Mizoram, around 7,70,000 voters will decide the political fate of 209 candidates. The main contest is expected between Congress and regional outfits MNF and coalition party ZPM.

    Elections in Mizoram have turned interesting this as BJP has fielded 39 candidates out of 40 assembly constituencies.

    Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address rallies in Bhilwara, Dungarpur and Kota on Monday. Congress President Rahul Gandhi is expected to launch his campaign from Ajmer.
