Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today defended his call for 'the people to Revolt' against Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stating that the party has indulged in frequent attempts of 'Operation Lotusl' to lure ruling party legislators, hampering developmental activities taken up in the State by the JDS-Congress coalition government.

"I have not made any provoking or flaring statement against any party.  They (BJP) have filed a complaint with Governor Vajubhai Vala and I will explain to him in detail about what led me to make such a statement and whether it is against constitution or not," Mr Kumaraswamy added.

He was speaking to newsmen on his way to temple town Sringeri along with his family members, including his father and former Prime Minister H D Devegowda, brother and Minister H D Revanna and wife Anita Kumaraswamy and other Gowda family members, to perform special pooja to goddess Sharadama.

Mr Kumaraswamy said that he has convened JDLP meeting in the evening at Hassan.  "Nothing importance to be attached to the meeting.  All the party MLAs have been invited and I will also participate".

Meanwhile, JDS State Spokesman Ramesh Babu has complained to Legislative Assembly Speaker Ramesh Kumar against BJP's frequent attempt to lure legislators in an attempt to come to power.

He has appealed to the Speaker to take steps to prevent such attempts as it is disturbing the functioning of the Government. He has also alleged that the BJP is taking help of anti-social elements to threaten legislators if they did not agree for money and power offered and destablise the government formed as per the Constitution.

The BJP's move is also against Parliamentary system and against the norms of democracy which is thriving in the State and country.

According to sources, the coalition partners in the State Government  have decided to file a counter complaint with the Governor against BJP's frequent attempts to lure ruling party legislators and its leaders making unwanted statements against the Ministers.
