    Suspected terror attack on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway

    They said that tow-three suspected terrorists fled from the spot while the police, Army and the CRPF have launched a search operation to apprehend them.

    Suspected terror attack has been reported near Jhajjar Kotli here on the city outskirts.

    "During routine checking of vehicles, suspected terrorists travelling in a truck opened fire at the frisking party," sources here said.

    They said that tow-three suspected terrorists fled from the spot while the police, Army and the CRPF have launched a search operation to apprehend them.

    "The driver and the helper of the truck have been detained while one AK rifle with three magazines was reportedly recovered from the truck," sources added.

    There are reports that one CRPF personnel also sustained injuries. There is, however, no official confirmation of this as yet.

    "Whether it was a terror attack or not is yet to be ascertained," a senior police official said.

    Schools in the jurisdiction of Jhajjar Kotli have been shut as a preventive measure, they added.

    Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Police on its official page of twitter posted that one AK rifle and  three magazines were recovered from the intercepted truck.

    "Driver, conductor taken into custody. Two-three suspected militants who ran away from the truck are being chased. Police army and CRPF are activated. Cordon and search operation is on ahead of Suketar near Katra crossing National Highway," it said.
