IOC South Zone General Manager (Corporate Communications) Sabitha Nataraj said apart from meeting the fuel needs of IAF, the requirements of other flights in Thiruvananthapuram were also met by the IOC.Â
Observing that the fuel demand at Thiruvananthapuram airport shot up significantly from about 150 Kilo Litres (KL) per day to 550 KL due to the natural calamity, she said to meet the increasing demand aviation fuel was moved from Coimbatore, Bengaluru, Mangalore and even from Hyderabad since August 17.Â
She said the demand was so drastic that the refuel requirements, which remained at eight to ten flights a day, shot up to 80 to 90 flights per day. She said so far the IOC has moved 1,861 KL of petrol, 1,913 KL of diesel and 523 KL of aviation turbine fuel.Â
