The Anganwadi workers and helpers were served termination notices by District Programme Officer (PO), ICDS project, Rajouri, for unauthorised absence from duty, an official spokesperson said, adding they have been asked to explain within seven days why action should not be initiated against them.
The notices were served after PO ICDS inspected 19 Anganwadi centres in Sunderbani, Thandapani, Marchola, Praat, Bal Shama, Channi and Siot, where 35 workers and helpers were found absent without any permission from the authorities concerned, he said.
Strict instructions have been issued by the government to protesting Anganwadi workers and helpers to resume their duties immediately as their demands are under consideration, the spokesperson said.
