Documentary on functioning of police screened
A 30-minute documentary on the functioning of police was screened at the Providential Mall in Puducherry on Wednesday.

Lieutenant Governor Kiran Bedi, Chief Minister V Narayanasamy, his Cabinet colleagues, DGP Sunil Goutham, IGP Surender Singh Yadav and other senior police officials took part in the function.
Details of the efforts taken by the police to prevent crimes in Puducherry such as patrolling, modern tactics, training given to the police personnel and security given to the public and visiting tourists were detailed in the
documentary.
Talking to media persons after the documentary, Bedi said this will help the functioning of police to reach the people.
Puducherry is peace and calm when compared to some other parts of the country, she claimed, adding that the tourists coming here wanted peace and calmness. Immediate action needs to be initiated on the complaints coming to the police, the Lt Governor said.
Congratulating the DGP who paved way for making the documentary, Bedi said that the Raj Nivas website and police website would be utilised to ensure that the documentary reaches people.
