Deendayal Upadhyay's commitment to serve poor inspires us: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi recalled Hindutva icon Deendayal Upadhyay's service to the marginalised on his death anniversary, saying his work continues to inspire people.

"Remembering Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya ji on his Punya Tithi (death anniversary). His commitment to serving the poor, marginalised and our villages continues to inspire us," Modi tweeted.
Upadyay was one of the top leaders of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, the forerunner of the present-day Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He had propounded the theory of "Antyodaya", or uplifting the last person in the queue.
Born on September 25, 1916, he passed away on February 11, 1968.
