Life remains affected in south Kashmir Pulwama for fourth day
Life remained affected for the fourth consecutive day on Thursday due to strike in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, where five Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were martyred and three Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants killed in a fierce encounter after a group of fidayeen stormed into a camp in the wee hours of Sunday.

Shops and business establishments remained closed in the district, including main town Pulwama, Tral and Awantipora however life returned normal in Pampore town after remain affected for three day though there was no strike call from any organization.
Reports of complete shutdown have also been received from Awantipora, Tral besides other areas in the district. Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the roads. Work in government offices and banks was also affected due to strike.Â
However, traffic was plying normally on Srinagar-Jammu, national highway which also passes through Pulwama. Additional security forces and state police personnel remained deployed at Pampore and Awantipora to prevent any untoward incident. Situation elsewhere in south Kashmir was normal.
