    TTD to introduce battery cars in Tirumala by January 2018

    Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), is contemplating to introduce electric battery cars by January 2018 as a preventive measure to protect the environs of Tirumala environs vehicular pollution.

    During the monthly Dial Your EO programme held at Annamaiah Bhavan here on Friday,

    TTD Executive Officer Anil Kumar Singhal answered 23 callers from across the country on various issues.

    Responding to a pilgrim caller from Bengaluru, the EO said, TTD has taken up massive plantation programme in Tirumala.

    Except the Srivari Seva Building, we have not taken up any other constructions in Tirumala keeping in view the importance of environs.

    To reduce vehicular pollution, we are planning to introduce 60 electric vehicles by January 2018,” he said.

    Machine for counting coins The existing mechanism of counting and accounting of the coins and currencies offered by devotees in Srivari Hundi need to be enhanced by purchasing advanced machinery, said Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Exeuctive officer Anil Kumar Singhal here on Friday.

    A review meeting on Parakamani activity was held at Annamaiah Bhavan along with Joint Executive Officers KS Sreenivasa Raju and Sri P Bhaskar. Speaking on the occasion, Kumar instructed the engineering officials to procure the advanced currency coins counting machinery to speed up the work.

    He also instructed the Chief Engineer Chandra Sekhar Reddy to see that the new Parakamani building which is coming up in Tirupati, should be completed on a fast pace

    ‘Over 1 L try for Arjitha seva tickets online’

    The electronic dip system of allotting limited number of Arjitha Seva tickets to pilgrims who have enrolled online is completely transparent and one lakh pilgrims are trying every time for ten thousand odd tickets, TTD EO Anil Kumar Singhal said here on Friday.
    Addressing media persons after Dial your EO Programme, Anil Kumar said, TTD introduced online dip system six months ago. There are some pilgrims who tried for seva tickets in all the six months.
    For 10,019 premiere Arjitha Seva tickets were released under the lucky dip in the month of November 1, against 16,071 pilgrims who had registered, he said.
    Among them, 39,322 (21.95%) pilgrims tried for the first time and 24, 954 pilgrims tried twice. While revealing the comparative figures of pilgrims who had darshan, laddu, annaprasadam and hundi collections in November last , the EO said, 20,72,591 pilgrims had darshan in last November, this year 20,55,953 had darshan while sale of laddus during last November was 79,34,652 and this year it was recorded as 83,15, 373. Annaprasadam also made commendable mark with 41,28,363 partaking the free food as against 33,91,092 in last November, however, the Hundi collection stood at Rs 82 Crore this November as against Rs 91 crore last year, he added,
