Army pays tributes to soldier who died in Pulwama encounter
The Army paid floral tributes to Sepoy Vrahma Pal Singh, who lost his life in an encounter in which three militants including two foreigners were killed in south Kashmir's Pulwama district yesterday.

The Army paid tributes to its comrade who made the supreme sacrifice during counter terrorist operation in Pulwama, an spokesman said here.Â
He said that in a solemn ceremony at Badamibagh Cantonment, Corps Commander, Chinar Corps, Lt Gen J S Sandhu, and all ranks paid homage to the martyr on behalf of a proud nation.Â
In a show of solidarity, the Army spokesman said, officials and representatives of the state government and other security agencies, including inspector general of Jammu and Kashmir police Munir Khan, joined in paying their respects to the martyr.Â
Singh, (30), sustained bullet injury during the fierce operation at Kandi Aglar in Pulwama district yesterday.Â
He was provided immediate first aid and evacuated to the Army's 92 base hospital here, but succumbed to the injuries, the spokesman said.Â
Singh had joined Army in 2004 and hailed from village Shaujana Rani located in Bulandshahar district of Uttar Pradesh.Â
The slain sepoy is survived by his wife, two daughters and a three-year-old son.Â
The mortal remains of the martyr were flown for last rites to his native place, where he would be laid to rest with full military honours, the spokesman said.Â
In this hour of grief, the Army stands in solidarity with the bereaved family and remains committed to their dignity and well being, he said.
