The Congress' demand came in the wake of a news website story that claimed that the profit of Temple  Enterprise Private Ltd,  owned by Jay Shah increased 16,000 times in one year on a revenue of only Rs 50,000.

The website story claimed that company balance sheets and annual reports showed that in 2013-2014, Jay Shah's company recorded losses of Rs 6,230 and Rs 1,724 respectively.

In 2014-15, it showed a profit of Rs 18,728 on revenues of only Rs 50,000 before reaching a turnover of Rs 80.5 crore in 2015-16. Addressing a press conference here,  senior Congress Spokesperson Anand Sharma said after these claims, the people of the country had a right to know the truth, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his senior ministers and the BJP chief who were never tired of talking about rooting out corruption and black  money should now answer the legitimate questions that had arisen in the light of the news story.

''The country should know how many other such talented young entrepreneurs are there in the country as can achieve this success in just one year. They should tell us their business model for the benefit of the country's youth,'' he said in a sarcastic tone.

Mr Sharma sought to remind Mr Shah of the high tradition set up by his predecessors like Mr Advani, Mr Gadkari, who quit as party president following allegations of corruption.
