Three militants killed in central Kashmir encounter

They said security forces and state police on a tip off about the presence of militants launched a search operation at village Rudwora in Badgam district tonight. 

However, when the security forces were moving towards a particular area in the village, militants opened fire, they said adding security forces retaliated ensuing an encounter.

Additional security forces have been rushed to seal the outer area of the cordoned off village to prevent any demonstrations.

The operation was stopped due to darkness though the entire area remained sealed.

With the first light this morning security forces launched a major offensive and killed all the three militants. The identity of the militants was being ascertained, they said adding some arms and ammunition were also recovered.
