Jethmalani asks Karnan to seek pardon

“I am sorry to tell you that I am convinced you have lost your mind. Your behaviour is that of a lunatic and some day that may be the only defence available to you though with no bright change of success,” Jethmalani wrote in the letter. 

The Supreme Court issued a non-bailable warrant in connection with a contempt case against Karnan on Friday. Karnan hit back by claiming that he was being targeted for being a Dalit and ordered the CBI to probe the Supreme Court judges on corruption charges. 

Jethmalani advised Karnan to withdraw the allegations he made against the SC judges and to pray for a pardon. Jethmalani also requested Karnan to approach him if he needed further persuading to realise the errors of his actions. 

“In this corruption-dominated country, our judiciary is the only protection. Do not destroy. I have worked all my life for the backward classes and I have great concern for them. But you are out to cause the greatest damage to their interests,” the senior lawyer said.
