Van in heist found abandoned

“We have recovered the van which was abandoned last night at Vasanthnagar (in the city),” DCP West Anuchet told PTI in Bengaluru. 

“We recovered Rs 45 lakhs from the van but the remaining amount is still untraceable”, he said, adding a police team is on the hunt for the accused. 

Earlier, on Wednesday, in a daring daylight heist, the driver of a logistic agency, fled with a van laden with Rs 1.37 crore cash, collected from banks here, police said. 

Dominic, hired by Logicash, an outsourcing agency, drove away the van with the cash when two other employees had gone to a bank in the heart of the city to collect money at around 1.30 pm. 

The accompanying security personnel had gone to attend the nature’s call when the driver fled the spot, police said.
