    Jaitley holds talks with Lanka, China, Iran

    Armed with the another round of economic and financial reforms, like GST bill, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Saturday held bilateral meetings with his counterparts and delegations from Sri Lanka, China and Iran to apprise them about the opportunities of mutual benefits.

    The discussions mainly focused on areas of mutual co-operation and commonality of positions in various multilateral fora. On the sidelines of annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) in Washington, the Finance Minister highlighted the various steps, like leveraging digital IDs (Aadhar), expanding access networks (Jan DhanYojana) and digitising financial benefit transfers, taken by the Government of India, which have led to tremendous progress towards achievement of the universal financial inclusion goal during the last couple of years. 

    Earlier Jaitley while delivering the keynote address at the meeting, organised by the World Bank on the issue of ‘Financial Inclusion and De-risking’, highlighted the achievements of his government on the financial and regulatory issues.
