Mr Gandhi's statement was demoralising for the Army and reflected the mindset of the party, Mr Shah said here while addressing mediapersons at the party headquarters.

"What do you mean by Dalali", Mr Shah said, pointing out that his party's previous statements "Maut ka saudagar and Zeher ki kheti" had proved to be party's nemesis in the Gujarat and Lok Sabha elections.

Accusing the Opposition of politicising the issue, he said, "We are behind the jawans of the country and we do not believe in the statement of political parties but we believe in the bullets of our soldiers".

"No one can insult the soldiers of the country," he asserted. Mr Shah asked Mr Gandhi to confine his "Dalali" discourse only to the Congress culture.

The surgical strikes were an achievement of the Army and a reflection of the strong will power of the Prime Minister, said the BJP chief whose remarks comes a day after Mr Gandhi's attack on Mr Modi in his concluding speech made at a rally to culminate his nearly-a-month-long Kisan Yatra taken across Uttar Pardesh.
