Hospital says no, boy dies on dad’s shoulder
A man lost his 12-year-old son even as he carried him on his shoulder in order to get him admitted in a hospital after one medical centre refused to admit him.
The Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital on Monday allegedly denied admission to Sunil Kumar’s 12-year-old son. He was asked to go to another hospital which was 250 metres away. As there was no assistance or stretcher, Kumar carried his son on his shoulder and brought him to the children’s hospital. The boy was pronounced dead on arrival.
“I ran with my child on my shoulder and when we reached the hospital no one cared for us. No one provided any assistance for 30 minutes. And when we reached the hospital, they said if I had come in 10 minutes before, my child would have been saved,” Kumar said. The Lala Lajpat Rai College and Hospital has ordered a probe into the matter.
