Sachin donates Rs Two crore for treatement to poor

Underlining that both 'Swachh Bharat' and 'Swasth Bharat' is important for the country to progress economically, he said that each and everybody should give importance to their health. "One can be mentally strong only if they have good health."

Tendulkar was speaking after inaugurating 500 bedded Aster CMI Super Speciality Hospital here.

Thanking the Medical community, Mr Tendulkar said that because of timely and best treatment whenever he got injury on and off the field, he could achieve in the Cricket field.  "I am grateful to those who treated me during injury and thank the Medical Community as a whole," he added.

Karnataka Minister for Medical Education Sharan Prakash Patil, speaking after inaugurating Heart Treatment Unit, stressed the need for availability of treatment to poor at reduced rates in Super Speciality Hospitals.

He said that the State government is taking steps to provide modern medical facilities in Government Hospitals like in Super Speciality Hospitals.
