Going Viral: Gurgaon techie’s photo of suicide bid on social media saves his life
A 30-year-old software engineer, Varun Malik from Gurgaon was saved by his friends and the police on Tuesday after he posted a picture of him attempting suicide along with a note on his Facebook page.

Varun Malik, who works with a multinational company, tried to commit suicide by cutting his wrist and then uploaded a picture of a bleeding hand along with a suicide note on the social networking site. He wrote, “I ,Varun Malik, in all my senses want to declare that I am ending my life because of my internal struggle. I hold no one responsible for it. I don’t have anyone. I am all alone.
Ending my life is the only option left with me,” he wrote. Soon after this message appeared on his timeline, two of his friends - with whom he was chatting — informed the police and wrote SOS messages seeking help to save him. When the police reached his flat, they found him lying unconscious and immediately rushed him to a nearby hospital. His condition is said to be stable now.
