The entire sangam city is coveted with the banners and big hoardings of the BJP leaders but suddenly, the SP also jumped into the fray putting up hundreds of posters and hoardings describing the achievements of the Akhilesh Yadav government.

Police sources here on Sunday said that on Saturday night cadre of both the SP and BJP were on the verge of clashing over putting on the hoardings but due to the timely intervention of police the situation was averted.

SP leaders says no more ‘parivartan’ (change) is required as development has already taken place in the state while claiming that the BJP rally would be a total failure.

The two parties are competing these days in the city to promote development plans and schemes, resulting in a deluge of posters and hoardings.

Bharatiya Janata Party has put up a row of posters, highlighting 52 schemes it has implemented in past two years for its national executive meet and Prime Minister’s ‘Parivartan rally’ scheduled on Sunday and Monday.

To counter it, Samajwadi Party has occupied various spots, where Allahabad Municipal Corporation had puts up hoardings and banner to showcase the development plans the state government has carried out.

The Akhilesh government has also put up 10 publicity vans in Allahabad. These special vehicles are fitted with LED display screen and posters. The four-wheelers are parked at strategic points in the city from where people could be easily attracted. A person fluent with the schemes implemented by the state government would suggest to masses through loudspeakers that UP is being ‘developed’ a lot by the state government and thus no more ‘parivartan’ is needed. The vehicles would remain in the city for next two days only to counter the BJP.

BJP too has come out with equal number of LED screen fitted vehicles which will highlight the flagship schemes of the Central government.

Allahabad Municipal Corporation has allotted 45 spots in city to Samajwadi Party to place hoardings and banners.
