Social media is a brutal and insensitive place. When the latest pictures of Fardeen Khan surfaced on the internet that showed his transformation from a fit Bollywood actor to his present fuller physique, Twitter found a new celebrity to body shame this time.

On Saturday, actor Fardeen Khan started trending on social media with Twitterati taking a dig at him. This time they just didn’t know where to draw the line and from being funny to being insensitive, here’s how half of the twitter reacted to Fardeen Khan’s weight gain.
While one user wrote, “Fardeen Khan ate his career,” another said, “Fardeen Khan is like Anant Ambani in reverse.” The absurd tweets addressed to Fardeen Khan were as wicked and nasty as they could get. Another tweet went, “Fardeen Khan went from being Instagram to Instakilogram.”
However, there were few of them who supported Fardeen by posting some rather sensible tweets. “We don’t body shame women post pregnancy, then why body shame Fardeen Khan. His life his pizza. So be it,” wrote one user. Another said, “Why is everyone body shaming Fardeen Khan now? He put on weight. Big deal. Get over it.”
Time to grow up, Twitter? Please?
