Going Viral: Sonu Nigam charms clueless public as a singing beggar

Sonu disguised himself as a beggar and sat on the streets of Mumbai, with a harmonium. His voice mesmerised people on the streets and many stopped by to hear him sing. But none could recognise him. Some gave him money as alms, others recorded him on their phones. 

One young man, after his performance, asked him if he’d eaten anything, and quietly handed him Rs 12. Sonu did not reveal his identity to anyone. “I went without any expectations, totally bereft of any awkwardness for the way I was looking and what I was about to subject myself to,” said Sonu. “For the first time, I was not me. The make-up was so good that no one couldn’t recognise me.”
