Gatimaan gets mixed reaction from people

For many it is a baby step towards taking the Railways to the next generation of high speed or the bullet train and for others it is a late start with uncertain future. 

Somesh, a student at the Delhi University feels that the 160 km/hr speed train was a good start for the Railways and hoped that there will be no halt after 160 km mark. 

“I had visited Agra several times with my friends and family members but on road. I found my trip by Gatimaan Express to be a new experience. But only 160 km/hr speed is not what we are looking forward. We also want to see India sharing space with Japan and China in Bullet train sector. Hope this government will provide this dream ride to us,” The Delhi University student said. 

“After several trial runs we were able put the 160 km/hr Gatimaan on track, this is just a tiny step towards enhancing speed. For me Gatimaan is a new version of Shatabdi. I don’t think we can have a Bullet train in next three years,” Govind Singh, an executive in an MNC said. 

Roshni, a housewife said, “It is an innovative idea to start Gatimaan though for a short distance. I want such semi high speed trains introduced to other places also and I am hopeful that our Railways will soon have high speed bullet trains. We should have patience and give the government time for it.”
