Reddy, who called on the students and teachers arrested in connection with the recent alleged attack on VC’s office in HCU, at the Cherlapally Prison here alleged that the Centre and state governments were playing with the lives of the students. “It is undemocratic to allow Appa Rao Podile to take charge as the Vice Chancellor and to indulge in lathi-charge on protesting students,” he claimed. “The actions of the NDA government at the Centre and TRS government in Telangana shows their attitude towards Dalit and Bahujans.” He demanded the arrest of Appa Rao Podile, against whom an SC and ST Atrocities Act has been registered.
