Put priests, maulvis in jail for preventing women's entry in Shani temple, Haji Ali: Sharad
Taking strong exception to the non-entry of women inside the Shani Temple and at Haji Ali, Janata Dal (United) president Sharad Yadav today demanded that the Maharashtra government take strict action and if required the priests and the maulvis be put in jail for preventing the women inside the religious places.

"The Constitution has given equal rights to men and women and such act by the priests and the maulvis should not be tolerated," he said.
Mr Yadav also ridiculed the statement of Maharashtra Chief Minister that he will talk to the priests and the maulvis."I know they won't hear to any appeal and putting them in jail is the only solution to the issue," he said.
Addressing a press conference here, Mr Yadav expressed his concern over the suicide by a scholar of Hyderabad University.
"It is unfortunate that even after 70 years of our Independence a youth commits suicide by writing a letter that his birth was a crime," he alleged.

He further said due to casteism and disparity, Dr B R Ambedkar had to convert himself to Buddhism.
Mr Yadav said the suicide has certainly shocked the country and something has to be done urgently.
Â
Commenting on the ongoing tussle over the Indo-Pakistan talks, the JD (U) president said the talks should continue but on the other hand the country should strengthen its internal security.
The leader was, however, very critical on the Narendra Modi regime. "Neither the inflation came down nor the two crore youth were given jobs as promised. Besides the youths who have studied in regional languages are the worst affected and are the most unemployed in the country," he claimed.
Mr Yadav said even after the failures, the Centre was still making fake announcements till date and promising for good days ahead.
