"I have written a letter to Mr Modi and requested him to move Supreme Court to have a day-to-day hearing in the Ram temple case. Muslim leaders are also of same view, therefore the Centre must appeal to the Apex Court," Dr Swamy told mediapersons here, briefing about the two-day seminar titled 'Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple: Emerging Scenario' held here at Delhi University on January 9 and 10.

Batting for a grand Ram Temple at Ayodhya, Dr Swamy said he will soon meet Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and Bahujan Samaj Party president Mayawati to build consensus on the issue.

"I am also ready to meet and discuss the issue with Muslim leaders to pave the way ahead. It's there in our manifesto. Nobody can go against it. I have party's sympathy on it," Dr Swamy replied to a questioner.

Dr Swamy said Hindus were ready to assist Muslim community to build a mosque in Ayodhya provided they agree for a Ram Temple at the disputed site. Citing a Supreme Court judgment, the BJP leader said 'mosque is not an essential part of Islam' but only a convenient place to worship.

"There are many Islamic countries like Saudi Arabia, Pakistan etc where they demolish mosques for public purposes. Mosque can be shifted from one place to another," Dr Swamy said, asserting that Britons had relocated many mosques during their rule.

He asserted that there will be no 'movement' for Ram Temple but 'similar seminars' will be organised across the country to raise awareness on the issue and legal battle will follow.

Slamming student bodies, which had agitated against the seminar on Ram Temple, Dr Swamy went on tag Jawaharlal Nehru University scholars, who opposed his candidature for its vice chancellor post, as 'drugs addicts.'

On recent violence in Malda district, West Bengal, the BJP leader said the Home Minister must seek explanation under section 256 from state government as to how it failed miserably in maintaining the law and order.

Not very optimistic about Indo-Pak talks, Dr Swamy said there were 'six' governments in Pakistan of which Taliban, ISI and Army were most powerful.
