    'Conclave of South Indian Women Writers' to begin from Jan 20

    A national conference of women writers of south Indian languages will be held at Thunchath Ezhuthachan Malayalam University in Malappuram district of Kerala from January 20.

    Titled as the 'Conclave of South Indian Women Writers', the three-day event is expected to be participated by over 15 prominent writers of Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil language, a release by the university here said.

    Based on the theme of 'Resonance and Resistance', the conference will provide an insight into writing as a process of response and resistance. Noted Tamil writer Meena Kandasamy and Malayalam writer P Valsala will attend in the inaugural session of the meet.

    Writers like Sara Joseph, Chandramathi, P Geetha, O V Usha, Khadeeja Mumtaz, Rosemary, Bindu Krishnan, Salma, L G Meera, Jayantashree Balakrishnan, Sukeertha Rani, S S Anupama, K V Shailaja, K V Jayasree and T Vijayalakshmi are among those expected to take part in different sessions during the event.

    The meet is expected to be a great opportunity to share the deeper dynamics of creativity with some of the most important contemporary women writers, the release stated.

    Teachers, researchers and students of different universities will participate in the programme, it said.
