Makeover Magic: Young professional gets edgy Catwoman look for Halloween

It’s trick-or-treat time and the city is gearing up to celebrate Halloween. From dressing up like comics and cartoons to their favourite TV show characters, everyone tries to bring out their creative best. And Shruti Mishra, a 24-year-old working professional, who was heading to a Halloween-themed bash, walked into the salon for a makeover that would make heads turn.

Studying her sharp features and even skin tone, the senior stylists decided to give her a bold yet classy transformation and opted for the evergreen Catwoman look. The stylists prepped Shruti’s face for the makeup by cleansing, toning and moisturising which also help in hydrating the skin. Then the stylists began the makeup with a primer to fill the pores for easy blending of the base and to set the makeup for a longer duration.

As the model had combination skin and an even skin tone, minimal concealing was required. The stylists concealed the under-eye pigmentation using a tinge of orange concealer and further built the base of the makeup by blending the foundation into the skin. The base was finally set with a compact powder to ensure that the make-up stayed longer. To get the striking Catwoman look, the stylists opted to give Shruti an edgy cateye makeup and a bold pout. In order to accentuate the eyes, it was critical that eyebrows were also dramatic.

Her eyebrows were filled with a subtle shade of brown to give it a natural look while keeping the shape defined. The stylists blended a combination of brown and grey to give it a smoky effect and set the look with a sharpwinged eyeliner at the inner and out corners of the eye bringing alive the ‘feline’ vibe. To further enhance the model’s eyes and to open it up, the stylists applied kohl on the waterline. Moving on to the lips, the stylists combined two bold colours – maroon and red to add extra oomph to the pout.

The stylists added a tint of maroon blush to the high cheekbones make up to contour her face and complement the lip colour. For styling the hair, a hair iron was used to straighten her hair perfectly and a pouf was given in front to add volume and drama with the help of back-combing technique. Also, an option of messy waves was suggested to the customer by curling her hair with the help of tongs.

The final look was set with a spray to keep the hairstyle long-lasting and a sparkler spray was used to give more shine to her locks. The icing on the cake that got Shruti party-ready was a glittery cat-ear head band! Shruti walked out looking like a Catwoman straight out of the movie poster.
