Interiors: Making space for growing children
While watching children grow is one of life’s unparalleled joys, the challenge of designing a bedroom that can keep pace with the growth is a huge one. Here are a few tips:
Chennai
You know how kids love to give free rein to their imagination, with a piece of crayon in hand and scribble on any available surface. Fix an easy to use chalkboard wall, done with chalkboard paint.
These days, smoothened, lightweight plywood boxes are available in plenty. Stack them one on top of the other, converting them into modular shelves, to hold bedtime storybooks, soft toys, etc.
Kids are by nature acrobatic, and can adapt easily to room decor of any kind. Invest in a few colorful, well stuffed cushions and watch them double up as functional seats as well.
Temporary wall desks are a great convenience, as they can be converted whenever children need more space to play and pulled out for homework. Fix the desk below a fixed, wall mounted shelf, complete with a pen holder, etc.
