    Chennai

A Chennai-based start-up has created an app that serves its users the much-needed deals, throughout the week. All you need to do is, open the app, get your location set and ‘KA-CHING’! (the sound produced by a lottery machine when you hit jackpot), there appears the deals offered by your desired food and beverage outlets across Chennai.

Shiv Shanker Ganesh, the young and enigmatic co-founder and CEO of KACHING, is a former student of Loyola college and a big-time foodie, who says, “As a student my wallet was always a disappointment to look at and I depended majorly on deals. So, whenever my friends and I used to catch up for a drink or dined out, haggling with managers for deals was our routine. Surprisingly, most of them ended up giving us great deals, and that was the actual ‘food for thought’ (laughs). Eventually ‘KACHING’ was born”. (sic)

How is it any different from other food Apps?

“Amidst hundreds of food delivery apps, restaurants are losing out on providing one to one customer service. Most importantly, the space used for dine-in is also going a waste as seldom any customers are turning up during week days to enjoy a meal in any restaurants”, says Shiv.

KACHING promotes indirect marketing channel for the merchant side of the business by helping the customer find best deals possible. They incentivise the customers and bring them to the merchants rather than merchants doing door delivery to customers.

With this app customers have all the more reason to step out and explore different places and ambience around the city.

“We strive to reduce the paper ads and pamphlets deals circulated by the outlets and provide green ways to tuck some tantalising treats in your tummy. Going digital is also way easier where the customers would never miss out on any exciting deals”, says Shiv.

KACHING is one of the first apps to have a tie up with UBER for pick up and drop services once the deals are finalised by you. Convenience redefined!

Just having an idea helps build a successful start-up?

Having an idea is great, but channelising it through the use of right ideologies and techniques help in making it successful said the young CEO, who is a part of tightly knit group of entrepreneurs in Facebook called ‘Chennai Open Coffee Club’ and ‘Tie’. Here established entrepreneurs, similar start up founders/owners share ideas, guide the other members, discuss methods to make a business successful.

Shiv and co-founder Siddharth Madabushi are slowly sinking in to the breath-taking response from Chennaites. Further, as their New Year’s present, the euphoric duo is planning to extend their line to retail along with food and beverage to let their users indulge in some retail therapy.
