Priyanka Chopra shuts down trolls
Being UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador, Priyanka Chopra recently visited Jordan to meet Syrian refugee children displaced due to the Syrian crisis at the Makani centres (community centres for uprooted children).
The actress, who was moved by the plight of the children she met there, has been updating her Jordan activities on social media regularly. She posted photographs of herself with the refugee children and the social workers, asking her fans to contribute whatever they can as an aid.
However, things took a turn for ugly when TV personality and motivational speaker Ravindra Gautam took issue with one Priyanka’s work and tweeted, “I would request Priyanka Chopra to visit rural areas of India where malnourished kids are waiting for food.”
Soon, trolls piled on the accusations, finding fault in her efforts. A miffed Priyanka soon shut down the trolls with a tweet that read, “I’ve worked with UNICEF India for 12 years and visited many such places. What have you done Ravindra Gautam? Why is one child’s problems less important than another?” A couple of months ago, Priyanka had also visited child sexual abuse victims in Zimbabwe.
