Art show for a more inclusive society
Shantha Gabriel, PRO of Stella Maris College, speaks about ‘Never Say Die’, an upcoming charity art show featuring works of specially-abled artists. Presented by the College in collaboration with HeART BEAT Foundation, the show will be open to public between 9 am and 6 pm from December 3 to 5.

What is the show aimed at?
The show is an attempt at sensitising the city towards the needs, aspirations and creativity of the specially-abled by recognising the need to create an inclusive atmosphere. This show is a team effort of the college through its departments of Fine Arts, Social Work and Public Relations with a view to reaching out to the difabled community.
Tell us about the artists who will be showcasing their work
The show features the works of four specially-abled artists. K Narasimhalu creates masterpieces in embroidery and art with the deft use of his feet. R Udayakumar, with his right thumb and index finger, creates majestic and vivid works of painting. The vibrant canvases of Suvedha Ganesh, a speech and hearing impaired artist, lend a voice to her silent world. The detailing in Uttam Kumar’s paintings is evident in the impressive creations of his facile feet. Over 100 artworks will be on display and sale. The proceeds will be given to the artists.
