Interiors: Style tips for cushions
We are often asked what’s the best way to style one’s sofa with cushions. Though there is no one correct way, here is one tip on something that works all the time. Use the cushion covers in an interesting way. Unleash your creativity.

Cushions are like accessories, shoes or handbags. They add texture and depth. The whole point about cushions is that they are there to be moved. But when you’re not moving them, they should be left in a certain way
Symmetry:
Layer smaller sizes in front. Always put big cushions at the back and the small ones at the front. Darker fabrics should go behind too.
Odds on fun:
Odd numbers are visually more appealing. Throw in an odd shape in the centre.
Colour coordinate:
Keeping a neutral base fabric on the sofa, cushions can be changed every now and then. To mix and match – combine textures, layer colours and mix solids with patterns that coordinate.
Bolster it:
Add in bolsters in either corner to add comfort and look.
There’s a pattern:
Always start from the outside with at least a 22” or 24” square and limit patterned fabric to one set.
