Our online delivery service and app offers close to 20 varieties of the flatbread which includes Madurai barotta , kothu barotta , chocolate barotta, whole wheat barotta , coin barotta , cheese barotta , mutton roti cani, egg and onion roti cani and many more combo meal options. We have introduced ‘Make your own meal box concept’, where one can choose their own combo. This kind of online experience is introduced for the first time in India and is getting a great response.

What has been the biggest challenge?

There is a misconception among people that barottas are not healthy as they are made with maida, fried in oil and not hygienically prepared at most roadside stalls and eateries. To change this perception is a big challenge. I want to put forth that barottas can be partially made with wheat and partially with maida to make it healthier and we even have whole wheat barottas. You will also find they are not oily and yet are immensely tasty.

Your take on food startups becoming the flavour of the season.

Indeed, they are the hot favourites. People love to try out new concepts in food and yet we realised that people in Chennai love their idlis, dosas and barottas. They are willing to experiment but return to the staples. That is the reason we chose to offer them more options of barottas. You can opt for sweet or savoury, vegetarian or non-vegetarian, based on your mood, occasion or taste.
