3D art flies right out of the frames in new city museum
India’s first 3D trick art museum, which has been designed and created by eminent artist A P Shreethar, was recently inaugurated at Snow Kingdom, VGP complex, ECR. It is a place with big pictures of optical illusions where the visitors find themselves transformed into another world probably re-born as Mona Lisa’s guest or Atlas’s Friend!
Chennai
Trick art is said to have a long history of over 2,000 years and it had become an established art form from the time of the Renaissance Era.
The purpose of this form of art is to create the illusion that the image is 3D when it is actually 2D, so that a painting appears to be an actual object. Each work of trick art looks differently when seen from different angle or spots.
The new museum, Click Art Museum will feature 24 such interesting artworks and is the brainchild of popular artist AP Shreethar.
Keen on collaborating common art with digital art, his ideas have often found recognition and admiration across the world.
Talking about the trick art museum, Shreethar says, “The viewer has to enter the frame for each piece of art work to get the complete picture. So essentially they have to interact with the art.” Among the various interesting art works are Adam handing out an apple, Oscar giving out the Oscar award, Mona Lisa waiting to have coffee with the viewer, selfie with chimpanzee and much more.
