About two lakhs devotees witnessed the function. Basic requirements including food and water have been provided for the devotees.
After the consecration, pilgrims were allowed to offer worship. But the theerthams to take holy bath, would be open only tomorrow.
The last kumbabishekam was performed on February 5, 2001.
