What does this award mean to you?
Vipanchee is an organisation that is completely devoted to the field of arts. It has been associated with some important people like Saraswati Sundaresan, singer Balamuralikrishna and musicologist B.M. Sundaram. I am honoured to be considered for this award.

From a learner to a guru, how has the journey been?
As a beginner, when your dance gets a positive feedback it thrills you and when you perform for the first time on the stage, it is a different kind of happiness. As a graded artiste of Doordarshan, it was a new high. Now, as a guru, whose work has been acknowledged, I have reached a new milestone. A teacher has a unique place in the life of the student, in our culture.

What are the performances lined up for the season?
I will be presenting an acclaimed production Sundarakandam . The production was staged at our 20th year,  and now we have been called to stage it once more during this season. Apart from that there are a few more performances lined up at different venues, next month.
