Quirk up your wedding wardrobe
The wedding season is upon us and here's some interesting tips for you to get that glamourous movie star look!
Chennai
It is that time of the year when your calendar is full of wedding invites over the next few weeks. Indian weddings are all about dressing up. While the floor length anarkalis, lehengas and half-saris are royal favourites of most women, it is time to move beyond the usual and try to add some funk to your wardrobe for weddings.
“I would say keeping the weather and the idea of a fun wedding dress, sari gowns are the best bet. They are a pure cocktail of the East and the West. Sari-gowns are elegant and easy to wear. They give you the beauty of a saree with the comfort of a dress. One can try the neon shades in pink, green and orange or else go in for classic blue or red,” suggests stylist Prajanya Anand. Palazzo pants with embroidered raw silk kurtas are also a great bet for functions like mehendi, sangeet or cocktails surrounding the wedding.
Cropped tops are a big hit this festive season. So why not pair them up with a sari with digital prints. “Cropped tops are trendy this season. Pairing them up with a fun printed sari is the right way to jazz up your wedding wardrobe. Wear them in contrasting colours to the sari and one is sure to stand out in a crowd,” adds fashion designer Rehane.
