Mani Ratnam decided to revive his dream project after finishing Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. The ace director also decided to rope in Simbu and Vijay Sethupathi for the second consecutive time after CCV.
We reported that Karthi, Vikram and Jayam Ravi have been finalised to play the male leads, Nayanthara is also cast by Mani Ratnam in a crucial role. While Vijay Sethupathi opted out of the film due to his busy schedules, reasons for Simbu not being a part of the film were unknown.
We now hear that it was Nayanthara, who first raised objections with Mani Ratnam about Simbu being roped in for a crucial role in the film. “She didn’t want to accept the film if Simbu is a part of it. Vignesh Shivn, her boyfriend also suggested Nayan not to do the film if Simbu is part of it,” a source said. Ever since the rumour was out #UnprofessionalNayanthara has been trending on social media. Fans of Simbu have lashed out against the actress.
But there’s more to the story. The source added that apart from Nayanthara, other actors like Jayam Ravi and Vikram also were ‘uncomfortable’ with Simbu being their co-star. But Simbu has always maintained a good rapport with Vikram and Ravi.
