CHENNAI: Since the release of its first-look poster, TN 2026, directed by Umapathy Ramaiah, has created huge buzz among the audience.
It caught attention for its uncanny resemblance to Vijay’s Jana Nayagan and also his political arrival.
Now, the teaser that was released on Thursday, has given a clear picture about the film’s plot and its similarities to Tamil Nadu’s current political scene.
Billed to be a political entertainer, Natty Natraj headlines the film and plays the role of an actor-turned-politician. He is portrayed as a number one hero in the Tamil film industry, who has turned his fan clubs into makkal mandram.
Some of the attention grabbing dialogues include just like how MGR, being an actor, started a party and became the Chief Minister, the same is possible with Natty’s character also.
The teaser draws similarities with the portrayal of how fans turned into supporters of Vijay, when he started his own political party.
Backed by Kannan Ravi under the banner of Kannan Ravi Group, the TN 2026: Thanga Natchathiram poster leaves little to imagination by sporting the tagline, “Naalai Namathe, Time to Lead”.
Although the team has not explicitly named which politician Natty would be playing, the costume, tagline, teaser and poster design leave no doubt among the masses about the reference to Vijay. However, while sharing the link to the teaser video, the makers wrote, “Not meant to hurt anyone’s sentiments.”
The cast includes MS Bhaskar, Thambi Ramaiah, and Ilavarasu in key roles. Darbuka Siva is composing the music, while PG Muthiah is handling the camera. Arul R Thangam is the editor. The film is scheduled to hit the screens on April 10.
