CHENNAI: Actor Sivakarthikeyan, speaking at the Parasakthi audio launch, delivered a strong message of unity by openly praising actor Vijay and addressing the ongoing fan rivalry surrounding their upcoming Pongal releases.

Recounting a recent interaction with Vijay, Sivakarthikeyan said he had called the senior actor after the release of The GOAT to congratulate him on the film’s success. In response, Vijay thanked Sivakarthikeyan for acting in the film and reportedly told him he would remain grateful “innumerable times” for his contribution. “This is the kind of relationship we share,” Sivakarthikeyan said, underscoring the mutual respect between them.

His remarks came amid social media debates and fan clashes linked to the Pongal releases of Vijay’s Jana Nayagan and Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi.

Addressing the issue directly, Sivakarthikeyan urged fans to celebrate cinema rather than create divisions.

He appealed to fans to watch Jana Nayagan on January 9 and celebrate the film, noting that it marks Vijay’s final release after a 33-year film career. He then encouraged audiences to watch Parasakthi the following day. “This Pongal is a brothers’ Pongal,” he said.

Reiterating his stand, Sivakarthikeyan emphasised that both films deserve equal support, describing them as an “elder brother and younger brother's Pongal.” He concluded by stating that his speech was intended to put an end to all controversies and unnecessary fan conflicts.
